Pandora Stackable Rings

I have some serious accessory envy....for the rings that are new to Pandora jewelry! While I think the charms are great gifts, I've always liked the brand, but never found myself in love with charm bracelets. So when I found out they now carry rings, I couldn't wait to see what Pandora had to offer! I was beyond pleased with the collection. With prices ranging from $25 to $725 per ring, it makes for a gift fit in almost everyone's price range. The options are endless with rings that are wide & thin, gold & silver, simple & stylish-there is a style of ring for a wide variety of tastes young and old.

Did I mention that they were stackable too? While you can get a wider ring that would only fit one on a finger, most of the rings are thin so you can fit 3-4 on one finger. On their website they allow you to search through the rings, stack your favorites, add up the cost, and show you what they look like stacked together.

Pandora - Great job, I'm hooked! I know will be at the top of my birthday list this summer. Here are a few of the designs I created:

Polyvore Board for Bluefly

Bluefly recently tweeted that they are having a contest to win $5,000 to splurge on their website. For those of you that are not familiar with the website bluefly.com, they specialize in high-end designer fashion at discount prices. Bluefly partnered with Polyvore and created this contest to show your summer style by creating a style board. I think it was such a great idea, I had fun creating my style board, and it was great to look at the other entries as well!

After playing around with the design for a little bit I decided on using blue hues with pops of color for my summer inspired board (see below)...and of course, I had to add some fabulous shoes in there as well!

Cross your fingers and maybe I will have the chance to afford my style board! :) Oh yea, you can comment and "like" my design here, but the contest ends tomorrow, so vote soon!

Missing London

A picture taken in London at Borough Market. One of my favorite places in London, filled with local vendors full of food, flowers, and sweets. My study abroad buddies, Katie & Ashley, and I loved this place and had so much fun just walking around the market and enjoying the area.

Another New Debut, Target + Missoni

Just hot off their release of Target and Calypso St. Barth, Target is back at it again, releasing that they are now partnering with Missoni! Yes, you heard right, Missoni! The brand whose zigzag and swirl patterns are endlessly in style and full of pieces that I have envied for years now. Coming to Target September 13th until October 22nd, it is a limited collection that Target will feature.

“It’s been a fantastic experiencce, " Angela Missoni told Vogue about working with Target, “one we are eager to share with families across the United States.”

As Calypso featured not only fashion for their Target line but accessories and housewares, Missoni is following in the same fashion and will reportedly have over 400 pieces including women's, men's, and kid's apparel, bedding, and dinnerware, among others.

Another great job on behalf of Target for the high-end collaborations creating fabulous, but affordable collections!

Leifsdottir Leaves!

Parent Company, Urban Outfitters recently announced that one of their lines, Leifsdottir (pronounced leaf's daughter), will be pulled from stores and sold exclusively at Anthropologie. Previously sold at stores such as Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Saks, and Bergdof Goodman, Leifsdottir is saying goodbye, and hello to their new home at Anthropologie beginning this June. With Anthro being one of my all-time favorite stores to shop at, I couldn't be more excited about this news!

As I looked through their clothing line, I realized the potential of this buried treasure! Featuring bold colors, prints, and styles that would look good on almost everyone, Leifsdottir has some seriously cute clothing! Since Anthropologie is such a widely recognized name, I think it was a smart transition to make and will really benefit both Leifsdottir, Urban Outfitters, and Anthropologie.

Rain, Rain, Maybe Stay?

As in my earlier post this week, I have been on the search for the perfect trench coat. Did I curse East Lansing? Today has been quite the rainy day, and it doesn't look like it's clearing up any time soon! This rain is only making me envy MORE trench coats than I was before! Here are a few of my favorites from Neiman Marcus that I came across:

Top: Burberry, Moncler Bottom: Burberry (both)
here

Although they are painfully out of budget, they are fun to dream about! It is also nice to pick out styles so I have a better idea what I'm looking for when I'm shopping.

See, the rain isn't so bad now is it? There's a positive to everything, and this I must say, is the cute trench coats that come with the rain!

Happy Birthday, Dad!

Happy Birthday to the most inspiring and creative dad a family could ask for!

For his birthday this year, one of the gifts he received was found by my crafty sister, Jen, on Etsy. (For those of you that don't know, Etsy features handmade goods of all sorts from private sellers. I recommend you to check it out for a all sorts of unique handmade treasures.)

It's the perfect gift for the Michigander that just seems to have everything! Found on Crafterall's store page, the store features a variety of layered papercut pieces. With every piece handmade, you are guaranteed to get a gift that is truly one of a kind. On my Dad's gift, we had a circle mark the city our cottage is located. Kudos to Crafterall for such a great piece of art, and a gift that many will treasure.

Love you, Dad. Enjoy your day at work, and celebrate another great year! We are a truly lucky family!

London Fashion Week: Burberry Prorsum Runway

Although Fashion Week has come and gone, the Burberry Prorsum runway is still on my mind! I loved all of the colors, styles, and designs that they captured with the Pre-Fall looks. One of my favorite aspects are the shoes that are featured in the top-right. They are a great look for fall, and before the season starts I will be on the lookout for shoe like it!

P.S. I've been searching for the perfect trench coat. Any suggestions?

Three-Quarter Length Dresses: College Ready?

This picture was recently featured in the April edition of the new Wall Street Journal Magazine.

First, if you haven't had a chance to check out their new magazine, I strongly advise you to do so! April features an interview with Anna Wintour which allows the everyday individual to get a sneak-peak into her iconic life as the editor of Vogue. Since the magazine's debut, the Wall Street Journal has done a wonderful job combining luxury fashion & design while addressing topics that can appeal to thousands. I love their magazine and think it will soon become a staple for the fashion-obsessed.

Second, what intrigued me about this photo was the feature of the three-quarter length dresses. While the styles & colors are fabulous, I find myself wondering how far this trend will go. As a college student, it is rare to see a dress or skirt even flirting with the knee. It almost seems as if it's a competition on how short you can go without letting everything show. Although in the fashion world, the mini is becoming less of a trend, the college world hasn't quite gotten the memo yet.

I understand that there is a time and a place for each style, and many people comment that at our age we should be "embracing our youth." But, it would be refreshing to see a young college student opting for the longer hemline. I, personally, love the look of the longer length, but am not sure how it would work on my 5'2 frame. Through on my spring shopping escapades, I will be on the look to try on this trend and see how it works.

Who knows if this trend will trickle down to the younger generations. But won't it will be fun to wait & see?!

Shoe Envy: Neiman Marcus

As us Michagander's got a nice taste of spring this past week, I'm out of my winter wardrobe and can't stop thinking about spring! Since I have a slight obsession with shoes, I've been on the lookout for some new warm-weather kicks. Neiman Marcus has some fabulous shoes in line for this season (kudos to their buyers!) and some really fun designs.

Here are some of my favorite things about these sandals:
  • The patterns! The Sergio Rossi cut-out wedge is one of my favorites because although it is a strong design, the neutral color tones it down.
  • The color in the Alexandre Birman shoe is to die for! Following the popular colors of the season, it is a perfect combination of style and color.

Accessory Envy: La Mer Collections Watches

We've all heard it time and time again, "Another year older, another year wiser." In this case, it proves true. A few months back, my sister, Jen, the inspiration and backbone of this blog (you're the best!), sent me a link to a watch she had some serious envy for... A La Mer Collection White Studded Wrap Watch. While I am usually the consultant for her wardrobe, Jen is the accessory queen. While she usually adorns simple, pretty, and unique pieces of jewelry, I always found myself envying her latest buy. She was very ahead of the bandwagon with the horseshoe necklace, claddagh rings, and a necklace with an elephant on it, that I still love!

So, I'm taking her advice on this one and have to agree, La Mer watches, you are my new accessory envy. I love all of the colors and different styles! The layer and stud wrap watches are my favorite pieces, because they are unique and not over-stated. Perfect to dress up a plain shirt, but simple enough to wear with a pattern. La Mer Collections also has a customize option with an endless amount of combination's so you can ensure that your watch will be one of a kind! The colored watch was a popular look this past season, but it's time to move on...to wrap watches! It is definitely added to my wish-list! Below are a few of my favorite styles:

Wardrobe Envy: Lauren Conrad

I have some serious wardrobe envy of Lauren Conrad!

One of my favorite aspects of Lauren's style is that it's very do-able for the everyday girl. While most celebrities seem to have an unrealistic wardrobe that I could only dream of having, her style is easier to relate to. She pulls off the latest trend without being overly trendy and she does it in style.

Lauren's Kohl's line, which I love, makes it easy to get her look.

I love Lauren's wardrobe because she dresses in classic pieces the everyday girl could find, but mixes them together in a way that consistently makes her a best dressed celebrity.

Another aspect of Lauren Conrad to be excited about is the Fall 2011 debut of her new line, Paper Crown! Opting for a more high-end designs, I love the previews I have seen from the lookbook. Romantic and chic, I think this line will appeal to an endless amount of women. I, among MANY, will be anticipating the new line and can't wait to see what she has in store for us!

Link Love: The Sartorialist

The Sartorialist is a staple not only in the blogging world, but in the fashion industry. Founder Scott Schuman states, "I let myself fall in love with something everyday."

Updated almost daily, and even mentioned in this week's Glee, Scott's passion and love for fashion is clearly depicted by his photographs taken of everyday individuals that spark his interest. Whether it be in the details, their style or simply the surrounding.

I often find myself combing through the archives, constantly inspired by the emotion of the pictures and the individual style each person truly embraces.

In a college town, it's easy to get lost behind the UGG boots and Northface jackets, especially in the winter. Check out The Sartorialist and let yourself be inspired by the originality of others and the opportunity to express your individuality in your style!

I encourage you to take some time to watch a short film featuring Scott Schuman, created by Intel Visual Life.

Outfit Envy: Anthropologie

Anthropologie never disappoints in their outfit creations! (I have some serious outfit envy) I love the dress print and the colors used to accent the dress. When a lot of people think of an accent to black and white they usually resort to bright colors, but the look of the moss green shades work wonderfully together. I think this dress could be worn a lot of different ways, dressed up or worn more casual. Now if only I could pull of that hat the way the model does...

New York Fashion Week: Heart Truth Red Dress Runway

New York Fashion Week is officially in full swing! It started on Wednesday, February 9 with: The Heart Truth's Red Dress Collection. The Heart Truth is a national awareness campaign in America for women about heart disease sponsored by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI). This featured well-known celebrities wearing some fabulous red dresses by a variety of designers. Here are some of my favorites:

Dita Von Teese in Zac Posen, Cat Deeley in Alberta Ferretti, Audrina Patridge in Badgley Mischka, Katrina Bowden in Oscar de la Renta, Julianne Hough in Swarovski, Eva Amurri in Chris Benz

My favorite goes to...Katrina Bowden in Oscar de la Renta! (bottom left) You can tell she loves the dress she is in, and is having a ton of fun. I absolutely love the design of the dress and it looks very flattering on her.

Experiencing some serious outfit envy? You can buy the dresses for the fund-raising auction at www.clothesoffourback.org through March 4.

What's your favorite design?
