Link Love: The Sartorialist
The Sartorialist is a staple not only in the blogging world, but in the fashion industry. Founder Scott Schuman states, "I let myself fall in love with something everyday."
Updated almost daily, and even mentioned in this week's Glee, Scott's passion and love for fashion is clearly depicted by his photographs taken of everyday individuals that spark his interest. Whether it be in the details, their style or simply the surrounding.
I often find myself combing through the archives, constantly inspired by the emotion of the pictures and the individual style each person truly embraces.
In a college town, it's easy to get lost behind the UGG boots and Northface jackets, especially in the winter. Check out The Sartorialist and let yourself be inspired by the originality of others and the opportunity to express your individuality in your style!
I encourage you to take some time to watch a short film featuring Scott Schuman, created by Intel Visual Life.

New York Fashion Week: Heart Truth Red Dress Runway
New York Fashion Week is officially in full swing! It started on Wednesday, February 9 with: The Heart Truth's Red Dress Collection. The Heart Truth is a national awareness campaign in America for women about heart disease sponsored by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI). This featured well-known celebrities wearing some fabulous red dresses by a variety of designers. Here are some of my favorites:
My favorite goes to...Katrina Bowden in Oscar de la Renta! (bottom left) You can tell she loves the dress she is in, and is having a ton of fun. I absolutely love the design of the dress and it looks very flattering on her.
Experiencing some serious outfit envy? You can buy the dresses for the fund-raising auction at www.clothesoffourback.org through March 4.
What's your favorite design?
Dita Von Teese in Zac Posen, Cat Deeley in Alberta Ferretti, Audrina Patridge in Badgley Mischka, Katrina Bowden in Oscar de la Renta, Julianne Hough in Swarovski, Eva Amurri in Chris Benz

Style Board: Valentine's Day Accessories
With Valentine's Day only a week away, gentlemen, the time is ticking! With color of the year being Honeysuckle, you can bet the stores are filled with all sorts of Valentine's Day shades.
Following the spring trend, I love the shade of color that the Mea Shadow wedges from Piperlime are. The OPI polish featured is a great color, I have it and absolutely love it. The featured Juicy Couture watch is a new personal favorite. As most girls around campus have jumped on the white-watch bandwagon (including me!), the red watch is a great change. I love the idea of bright colored watches, making it more of a statement piece.
Let's just say, I would be happy with any of these gifts for Valentine's Day! (...especially the Kate Spade purse!)

Link Love: The Coveteur
here |
Founded by Stephanie Mark and Erin Kleinberg, the blog features the wardrobes of many trendsetters behind the scenes in the fashion world. With already seven wardrobes to lust over, they feature a biography of the individual and their digital inspiration. When you scroll over each picture, you can read about the designer, and the personal ties they have with each item.
I love the recognition to the many directors and editors that have fabulous style, as it is inspiration for me to continue adding unique pieces to my closet. My personal favorite feature is the most recent, Celine Kaplan, who has a great taste for color, shoes to die for, and an awesome rug in her closet (which reminds me of London). I love that she features both her high-end pieces and her great deals, such as the J-Crew necklace and the H&M jacket. Envy on!

MSU: Snowday!
For the students of Michigan State University, February 2, 2011, will always be remembered. The school graced us with a snowday! (The 3rd in MSU history) East Lansing was hit with 11 inches of snow, so my roomates and I knew we had to take advantage of the day off!
Note: In the picture with the cars, the pile of snow contains a car buried underneath it!...that was at our friends house, not of our doing, but too funny to not take a picture!
