Fashion News: Urban Outfitters, Inc.
Urban Outfitters Inc, (their stores include Anthropologie, Free People, Leifsdottir, Terrain and Urban Outfitters) brands announced wedding brand BHLDN will debut on Valentine's Day. The collection will feature own-brand designs, as well as established and up-and-coming guest designers. As the Urban Outiftter brands, especially Anthropologie, are some of my favorite stores to shop at, I know the debut of a wedding collection will be successful...And how fun is it that it debuts on Valentine's Day! I, among many others, will be sure to check out the anticipated collection!

Style Board: Military in the Spring
The military look can easily be overpowering and a little much, but when worn right, it is a great trend to follow! In college it's easy to get stuck in the rut of just wearing jeans but there are a ton of other options, especially when spring time comes to MSU. As shown in a previous post, I can't wait to start wearing skinny cargos. So with this look I wanted to incorporate a different pant to keep it unique. With retail already showing their spring lines, it's not too early to pick up some anticipated warm weather clothes. This season, skip buying the jeans and the typical short black skirt and try something new with your spring wardrobe!

Wardrobe Envy: Blake Lively
In my book, Blake Lively is one of the best dressed celebrities. She always takes risks, but never fails to keep it classy. Her style is (almost always) impeccable. This week she was featured in Vogue as one of the Top 10 Best Dressed. Let's just say, I'm quite jealous of her wardrobe! Here are just a few of her fabulous looks:
Really, not many people can pull off blue sequin cropped pants and look fabulous doing so!

2011 Color of Year: Honeysuckle
Patone has announced their pick for the 2011 Color of Year, Honeysuckle. Although this usually isn't in my typical color choice for clothing, I think this shade could be flattering on a lot of different skin types!
See the color in concept:

Stores are now putting these colors in their new arrivals. Express (top) has quite a few tops that feature this color, following closely with the Honeysuckle color. Neiman Marcus (bottom) has taken a variation of the color, opting for Coral instead.

"Courageous. Confident. Vital. A brave new color, for a brave new world. Let the bold spirit of Honeysuckle infuse you, lift you and carry you through the year. It’s a color for every day – with nothing “everyday” about it." -Patone

Lululemon Manifesto
Lululemon is one of my favorite companies in the fashion industry. They specialize in their super cute workout clothes, and although they are pricey, the quality of the clothes are their strength. (They hem your pants for free and have them delivered to you! Which is great for us short girls!) I'm not quite at the income level to afford their clothing, so for now I just lust after it.

Spring Trend - Wedges
For spring I think they would look best paired with a pair of skinny cargos. Yes, cargos are making a comeback for women! Check them out on these celebrities. (And no, men, don't pull out your old cargos, the comeback is only for women!)

One of Many
There are 46,510 students at Michigan State University. Walking through campus, you probably wouldn't pick me out as the super trendy girl. Or the girl with the designer labels. Or the girl wearing the latest runway look. I'm just an average girl with a love for fashion, a fabulous pair of heels... and that has a slight shopping addiction!
